About me
Julia Karrasch · Couples Therapist · Alt‑practitioner for psychotherapy

I am Julia, a mother of two and have been happily married for 17 years. My first contacts with partnerships and relationships began in my family of origin. In my family (parents, grandparents, aunts/uncles) there was a wide range of relationship patterns, and as I spent a lot of time in different families as a child, I was able to observe these and draw my conclusions from them.
I have observed the added value that a harmonious and loving relationship has on the family and how enriching it is for the people involved. I have also experienced the destructive effect a toxic and unhappy relationship can have and how it develops over the years.
In the further course of my life, I have dealt a lot with interpersonal relationships: I have always been interested in what effects communication has on the development of a relationship, what and how it can be changed so that the relationship works better. My interest has not only been limited to romantic relationships, but also to relationships between friends and colleagues, between parents and children and in a professional context.
Since my youth I have had the opportunity to explore what values and attitudes different cultures have in relation to relationships and communication and what factors are very important in intercultural communication.
My professional career began in the field of business administration. Over time, however, I realized that this did not touch my heart and the impact I could achieve with the work was very limited. This is how I came to my current work as a non-medical practitioner for psychotherapy and couples therapist.
I am fascinated by interpersonal communication and the human psyche, the interaction between internal and external factors on behavior and communication. Through many further training courses and practical experiences, I have built up a strong competence in this area and am happy to build on this to accompany and help people.
As a child, I dreamed of a happy and fulfilling relationship. I dreamed that I could fully rely on my partner, that we would support each other and grow together, and that no matter where I was, I would feel at home with my partner. This dream has come true.
Today, I dream of accompanying and supporting people who are unhappy in their partnership on their journey (whether together or apart) towards a harmonious and respectful relationship.
